"The One America Appeal is a joint appeal that was originally launched by all five living former American Presidents to encourage their fellow citizens to support recovery efforts from Hurricane Harvey — which inundated the Texas Gulf Coast with unprecedented flooding. This special appeal has been expanded to include areas most affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria."


Friends of Puerto Rico Hurricane Maria Recovery Fund

"In order to help build Puerto Rico after the passing of hurricane Maria, we're raising funds that will be invested 100% in the Island. Friends of Puerto Rico is a national non-profit organization incorporated in Washington, DC. Our mission is to build the future of Puerto Rico. We invest in communities to foster economic sustainability and promote self-sufficiency through art, cultural and educational exchanges. Friends of Puerto Rico provides financial support to selected individuals and non-profit organizations based in Puerto Rico that contribute to local arts, education, and entrepreneurship, while ultimately catalyzing economic development and stimulating job creation."

The Center for Puerto Rican Studies has launched an excellent resource site with information, research, fundraising drives and events, and volunteering opportunities.



The latest data from the government of Puerto Rico, including addresses of open hospitals, pharmacies, banks, gas stations, supermarkets, and distribution centers.



NEWARK (Tainas Unidas)
TAÍNAS UNIDAS is a group dedicated to the Hurricane Maria relief effort in restoring normalcy and providing support to those affected. We collect, transport and distribute items directly to those in need. We fundraise and work with local on-the-ground partners in affected areas to ensure efficient use of funds and support refugees who have been relocated due to the disaster. Founded by women in Newark, NJ - yet open to all - we emphasize grassroots partnership in relief efforts. 
Drop off location: 849 Mount Prospect Ave, Newark | Monday-Saturday 9am-9pm, Sunday 9am-6pm.
ACCEPTING: Emergency kits, bed pads, adults diapers, and alcohol pads.

Collection boxes will be set up around Bloomfield for essential infant and personal care items that will be distributed in hurricane ravaged Puerto Rico.
Drop off locations: Bloomfield police department and town hall (1 Municipal Plaza), all fire houses, and the Civic Center (84 Broad St, Bloomfield). 
ACCEPTING: Diapers, baby food, batteries, first aid supplies, feminine hygiene products.

PACO will be coordinating with all relief efforts and will begin to accept donations for Puerto Rico and Mexico.
Drop off locations: 390 Manila Ave & 346 Center Ave, Jersey City | Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
ACCEPTING: Water, canned goods, bleach, batteries, baby/senior diapers.

ELIZABETH (Hurricane Relief for Puerto Rico)
Puerto Rican Alliance of Elizabeth united with other organizations will be accepting donations to help Puerto Rico.
Drop off locations: E'port Community Center 250 Second St, Elizabeth | Monday-Friday 11am-7pm.
ACCEPTING: Water, canned food/drinks, can openers, instant milk, soap, detergent,
baby/senior diapers, batteries, flashlights, first aid supplies, baby wipes, baby food, toothpaste, toothbrushes.


10/14, 2pm - City Stars Album Release | Aquino | Bloomfield Public Library's Little Theater | 90 Broad St, Bloomfield
$10 admission (at door). Proceeds will be donated to the ConPRmetidos Hurricane María and Irma Recovery Fund.

10/19, 5-10pm - Art and Music Benefit for Puerto Rico Hurricane Relief | Essex Rising & Valley Arts | 400 S Jefferson St, Orange
An evening of art and music to benefit hurricane relief. Featuring Frank Meo's Mind Prints series in the Community Gallery and live music in the courtyard. Food, drink, and a great time for a good cause.
$10 suggested donation at the door. 100% of donations and 50% of art sales go directly to hurricane relief. Item donations accepted as well. 

10/20, 8pm - Puerto Rico Pa'lante | SALSA in the City & Brooklyn Salsa | Grand Prospect Hall | 263 Prospect Avenue, Brooklyn
