Dania Ramos is a writer and teaching artist.
Dania's middle grade novel Who’s Ju? (Overdue Books) won the 2015 International Latino Book Award for Best YA eBook, and was a finalist for the 2015 ILBA Mariposa Award, and a 2017 Sakura Medal.
Dania's stage plays have been produced or developed by Luna Stage, Writers Theatre of New Jersey, Speranza Theatre Company, Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, Repertorio Español, and Teatro Vivo. She was a finalist in the MetLife Nuestras Voces National Playwriting Competition and the recipient of a New Jersey State Council on the Arts Playwriting Fellowship. Her script writing is also featured on the Cocotazo Audio Theatre podcast, which she co-produces with her husband, Michael Aquino.
Dania has been a teaching artist for fifteen years. She's taught drama and creative writing residencies and workshops for organizations including the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Writers Theatre of New Jersey, Writopia Lab, and the New Jersey School of Dramatic Arts.
Dania holds an MA in creative writing from Wilkes University and a BFA in theatre performance from Montclair State University. She's a member of the Dramatists Guild of America, the Society of Children Book Writers and Illustrators, and Actors Equity Association.
